Working Principle

Excess Coating Liquid Being Thrown Off: Due to the rotational centrifugal force, excess coating liquid will be thrown off the object to be coated. The actual amount of liquid forming the film is usually less than the amount dropped, which helps reduce material loss and improve coating efficiency.

Coating Liquid Dropping: The dilute solution to be coated (coating liquid) is dropped at the center of the object to be coated (workpiece).

High-Speed Rotation: The spin coater is started, making the object to be coated rotate at a certain high speed, exerting centrifugal force on the coating liquid.

Coating Liquid Diffusion and Film Formation: Under the action of centrifugal force, the coating liquid quickly spreads over the entire surface of the object to be coated and forms a uniform thin film. Factors such as the viscosity of the coating liquid, the rotation speed of the object to be coated, and the rotational starting acceleration will affect the thickness and uniformity of the film.
